Native Plant Nursery
We grow plants, from seed, for the planet.

We focus on growing native plant species local to our ecozone, as well as those near to us. Our seeds are ethically collected and sourced, and a majority now come from our own demonstration gardens.
We offer a wide variety of native species, focusing foremost on highest pollinator value, and second on rare and harder to find species, to increase biodiversity in our region.
Our nursery spent 2025 growing, learning, making mistakes and figuring out our priorities and focus moving forward. The plants we grew in our R&D (Research and Development) year have all found homes in our community through the Aylmer Butterflyway project, or in several of our new demonstration gardens, and we have learned so much in this phase of our enterprise.
W are focused, and ready for next growing season.

Our focus for 2026 will be on growing out a wide selection of native trees and shrubs, from seed, in addition to the wide variety of flowering native plants, grasses, vines and existing shrubs we already offer.
Plant list will be available later this winter
Native Plant Guidance and Personalized Plant Shopping experience
We strive to be a different kind of nursery, and prioritize wildlife habitat, community restoration and knowledge sharing over profit. Our nursery is small, and we love spending time talking to our clients, giving you time to talk to us about your project, the conditions you are planting in, what you’re looking for, your concerns and questions, and help you choose native plants that will work in your conditions.
Free of cost, reach out if this something you’re interested in, and come over for a cup of tea, and even visit our gardens for inspiration.
Garden and Landscape Design Services
Habitat Gardens

We transform lawns into thriving ecosystems filled with native pollinators and wildlife food, shelter and nesting sites. We can help you create beautiful, diverse and ecologically functional front gardens, rain gardens, meadows and traditional looking cottage gardens with biodiversity and wildlife habitat prioritized.
Mini-Forests

Starting with our own experimental mini-forest, we have learned (and continue learning) how to transform urban spaces into thriving forest ecosystems, using teachings of the Japanese Miyawaki Method.

We are partnering with local schools and organizations to create more mini-forests in our community in 2026, and are actively seeking opportunities to create more urban forests.
Butterflyway Aylmer Project
As a social enterprise, we are proud to donate a large portion of our profits, plants, seeds and expertise to projects that improve biodiversity in our local community.

The Butterflyway Aylmer project began in spring of 2025, and in its first year we created 12 public Butterflyway gardens here in Aylmer. We work with schools, community centers, community organizations, and local businesses to create habitat gardens in public spaces. If you’re interested in learning more, get in touch.

Workshops and Education
We partner with Pollinate Aylmer to create and deliver workshops for various targeted audiences (school aged children, seniors, youth volunteers, corporate teams, community members).

We make our workshops and presentations freely available for non-profit use through our resources page, but our engaged animators can deliver these in English or French, in a wide variety of settings, including schoolyards, classrooms, meeting rooms and various outdoor settings. Yard & Garden Clean-up and Maintenance

We are a family-owned enterprise, and our children participate in many areas of the business, learning work ethic and entrepreneurship along the way. Our teens offer their services for garden maintenance and clean-up, and as they are growing and learning, their service portfolio is increasing. If you are looking for honest and hardworking youth for your garden and yard maintenance needs, reach out.
Salves, Balms & Native Plant Products

Inspired by one of our teen’s STEM projects, we began experimenting with the plants we grow, turning our kitchen into a mini-lab. Using native plants and our knowledge of their medicinal properties, we created infused oils, salves, and balms. With a keen eye for scents and a love of science, our daughter helped perfect these products, which we now offer for sale. These make thoughtful, natural gifts and represent our family’s commitment to innovation and creativity.
