Roles
Fortress/Barrier, Pollinator Attractor

S73/S29/S72 Evidence: Fortress/Barrier: S61 keyword match: thorns? (supporting signal only)] | Pollinator Attractor: S73 [HIGH]: S64 Xerces listed (source-classified)]

Notes
A strongly aromatic herb that may act as a pest confuser, reducing the ability of herbivorous insects to locate nearby crops by scent masking. Its compact clumping habit and slow rhizomatous spread make it suitable as an understory guild member in dry woodland or savanna plantings. Tolerates juglone, enabling placement under black walnut.
