Ecological Context
An obligate wetland perennial of swamps, fens, marshes, and lakeshores across the Mixed Wood Shield and Great Lakes region. In the Outaouais, found along the Ottawa River and Gatineau River in minerotrophic fens, forested swamps, and marshy shorelines on organic to silty substrates. Specimens from Ile-Kettle, Perkins, Masham, Plaisance, and Ripon confirm a consistent association with poorly drained peatlands, alder thickets, and sedgy margins.
