- Ecological Context
- An obligate wetland perennial of calcareous fens, marly shores, and wet meadows. In Ontario, concentrated around the northern Great Lakes shoreline on sandy and marly substrates; in Quebec, primarily found in boreal fens of the Central Laurentians. Its glandular-sticky flowering stems are a distinctive ecological feature. Requires open, high-pH wetland conditions and does not tolerate dry or acidic environments.
