Shop Local: In the heart of Aylmer

After a year operating our nursery purely as a means for fueling community biodiversity projects in Aylmer, we feel ready to graduate from an “almost” to an actual native plant nursery, and open to the public, in addition to continuing to support community biodiversity projects through the newly formed non-profit, Canopée Localeaf.

Every Sunday at the Old Aylmer Farmers’ Market

Find us at the Aylmer Farmers Market (Marché Vieux-Aylmer) every Sunday, starting June 6th, until late October, with a rotating selection of native plants, shrubs and trees suitable for urban spaces.

Visit the Nursery

By appointment

Come visit the nursery and Learning Lab in Aylmer North, by appointment. Learn, shop, or simply browse the grounds, and be inspired. Look out for an appointment booking calendar, coming soon, or follow us on Facebook to learn about our opening times.

Through Pollinate Aylmer

The nursery is open exclusively to Pollinate Aylmer members most Wednesdays during the day, when volunteers come together to help pot up seedlings for community plantings, and are free to take home species that we pot, and wonder the grounds of our Learning Lab.

During Free Canopée Localeaf Workshops

Check out our non-profit sister site, Canopée Localeaf, for upcoming events and workshops happening at the Learning Lab. These workshops are offered free to the community, on a limited registration basis.

Online Shopping? –> Nah

Despite our beautiful new website and detailed plant database, we have opted away from selling our plants online, and have chosen a more old fashioned model, that allows us to spend time outside as a family, hands in dirt, instead of screens and socials. We might eat these words and change things up next year, but we feel the model that we’ve chosen works best for us for now.

Pricing

We subscribe to a model of gifting and reciprocity over profit, and our pricing is reflective of this. Our plants are affordable and fairly priced. We operate as a social enterprise model, and continue to invest a majority of profits back into our community through Canopée Localeaf.

Most of our plants range between 3-7 dollars, with our shrub and tree seedlings typically between 10-25 dollars.

We don’t grow plants in bulk, and don’t sell plants in bulk, to ensure we are able to grow enough to meet the needs and projects of our community, which is our immediate focus.
